I sell two sizes. Here is what each one actually is, so you can decide before you order rather than after it arrives.
The real dimensions
The 8x10 is 8 inches by 10 inches. The 11x14 is 11 inches by 14 inches. Those are the paper dimensions, not the image dimensions.
Every print has a white border, so the image itself is smaller than the sheet. On an 8x10 the image is roughly 7 by 9 inches. On an 11x14 it is roughly 10 by 13 inches. The border is at least half an inch on every side.
One photograph is an exception. Photograph No. 01 came out of the camera in a wide panoramic shape and carries its own white above and below, so it prints edge to edge on the paper.
Which one for which wall
An 8x10 works close up. On a shelf, a desk, a narrow bit of wall beside a door, or in a group of several small frames. From across a room it reads as a small object rather than an image.
An 11x14 is the smallest size that holds a wall on its own. Above a nightstand, beside a doorway, or in a pair. It is still modest. If you are filling a large empty wall, two or three 11x14 prints together will do more than one.
A way to check before you buy
Cut a rectangle of paper or newspaper to 8 by 10 inches and another to 11 by 14. Tape them where you are thinking of hanging the print and leave them up for a day. It takes two minutes and it is more reliable than imagining it.
If you frame the print, the frame adds two to four inches in each direction, sometimes more with a mat. An 11x14 in a matted frame can end up close to 16 by 20 on the wall. Worth measuring for.
Framing
I sell paper only, unframed. Both sizes are standard, so off-the-shelf frames fit without custom work. If you use a mat, the mat opening will cover a little of the white border, which is fine and usually looks better.
